Rep. Les Gara I just wanted to let you know that, first, Thread’s summer book drive is happening this month. Thread, a non-profit, does great work for families on early childhood education. Also, Monday is the deadline to register to vote for the August 19 Primary Election. You can register 30 days before the election, and if you don’t register for the Primary, you can still register 30 days before the November General Election to vote then.

Rep. Scott Kawasaki It’s going to be a busy weekend! Although this Fairbanks summer has been up and down with record rains interspersed with beautifully sunny days, we have reached the weekend that everyone looks forward to: Golden Days. In 2014, we have a double-dose of excitement as the World Eskimo-Indian Olympics will take place this weekend as well. Rep. Geran Tarr My colleagues and I find ourselves disappointed by the Republican Majority vote to increase spending to $500,000. We need to have functional offices for ourselves and our staff so we can serve our constituents, but I personally think that we have good options already. There is no need, in these tight fiscal times, to spend such an excessive amount of public funds on prettier chairs.
