I want to thank everyone who came to my Town Hall Meeting this past weekend. We had a great turnout and it was evident that Fairbanksans have been paying close attention to what’s going on in Juneau. It was also clear that there is frustration because of the lack of action. I share that frustration. I will continue to fight for everyday Alaskans to improve our public education system, ensure Alaskans get their fair share for our resources, and make sure that corporate money doesn’t overpower your voices.

NEWS: Rep. Kawasaki to Host Town Hall Meeting this Weekend

JUNEAU – Representative Scott Kawasaki will host a town hall meeting in Fairbanks on Sunday February 23 in the Noel Wien Library from 2:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. Kawasaki invites Fairbanksans to a discussion on a variety issues including the proposed AK LNG gas line project, education funding, and the cost of energy.

I have monitored the progress of the UMed/Northern Access Road project since it first received funding last year. This summer I watched the developers give many presentations at community councils throughout the area. In August, hundreds of our neighbors attended an Open House at East High School to submit comments and participate in discussions on the future of the road.
