NEWS: Rep. Tarr Applauds Passage of Erin’s Law in Alabama and Oregon

ANCHORAGE – Erin’s Law, to give children needed information to protect themselves from sexual predators, has been approved in two additional states. This comes as Erin’s Law legislation is stalled in the Alaska Senate. Oregon and Alabama have approved Erin’s Law, making them the 24th and 25th states to pass this important personal body safety measure.

NEWS: Time Running Out to Pass Erin’s Law to Address Alarming Rates of Child Sex Abuse

ANCHORAGE – Representative Geran Tarr (D-Anchorage) is calling on the leadership of the Senate to schedule Erin’s Law for a hearing in the Senate Finance Committee. This important legislation will give children and teens tools to protect themselves from dating and sexual violence. House Bill 44 is currently held up in the Senate Finance Committee and has not yet been scheduled for consideration.
