Note from Rep. Gara: National Award For Foster Care Work: And Make Alaska Better Even if Some In Congress Are Threatening to Make Things Worse
October 16, 2013

Rep. Kawasaki’s Juneau Note: October News!
October 15, 2013
Friday October the 18th is Alaska Day! It commemorates the day Alaska was transferred from Russia to the United States. We are blessed to live in this great state (and pick up such a bargain!) Celebrate by doing something Alaskan with friends and family. Go for a hike at Creamer’s Field and notice the leaves changing color, take the kids to Pioneer Park, or learn more about Alaskan history at the UAF Museum!

The Affordable Care Act (ACA) has become muddled and confusing since its original enactment in 2010. Most recently, rhetoric on the government shutdown and postponement of the law creates even more confusion.
It is my job to keep you informed of your options and educated on the major components of the Affordable Care Act as they take effect in the next year. What matters to me is maximizing the benefit of the ACA for Alaskans.
