Representative Scott Kawasaki (D – Fairbanks) will host another in his series of summer “Picnics in the Park” Wednesday, July 23, at 4:00 p.m. at the South Fairbanks Park on 23rd Avenue. Rep. Kawasaki has hosted a series of picnics across the city to celebrate the more than 60 free public parks maintained by the Fairbanks North Star Borough.

Although this Fairbanks summer has been up and down with record rains interspersed with beautifully sunny days, we have reached the weekend that everyone looks forward to: Golden Days. In 2014, we have a double-dose of excitement as the World Eskimo-Indian Olympics will take place this weekend as well. I look forward to meeting and visiting with neighbors as we celebrate the Golden Heart City!
