JUNEAU – Today, the Anchorage Legislative Caucus announced its next public hearing in Anchorage will be February 22, 2014 at the Loussac Library. Representative Harriet Drummond (D-Spenard) is the new democratic co-chair of the Anchorage Legislative Caucus and will co-chair the meeting with Representative Gabrielle LeDoux (R-Northeast Anchorage), the republican co-chair of the caucus.

JUNEAU - Today, Senator Berta Gardner (D-Anchorage) and Representative Andy Josephson (D-Anchorage) filed legislation to repeal state funds for the U-Med/Northern Access Road project. Senator Gardner and Representative Josephson represent the University area which is the location of the U-Med/Northern Access Road.

NEWS: Anchorage Legislative Caucus Announces Public Meeting Saturday 9am-Noon

Today, Anchorage Legislative Caucus co-chair Chris Tuck (D-Anchorage) invited Anchorage residents to come share their ideas, concerns, and experiences with Anchorage-area legislators in the Alaska state House and Senate this Saturday from 9 a.m. to noon at the Loussac Library. In addition to public testimony, the meeting will include brief presentations on ongoing and proposed state projects in and around Anchorage.

Five days from now I will pack up the car and begin the drive to Haines, at which point I will board a ferry headed to Juneau. In my previous newsletter I may have mislead you regarding the start date of the legislative session. To be clear, the first day of session is Tuesday January 21, 2014. However, before I leave, I hope to see you all tomorrow night at Wendler Middle School from 5:30pm – 7pm to discuss the future of natural gas in Alaska with specialist Larry Persily. This time of year in Fairbanks is beautiful, if cold. I hope the warmth of the season reaches you as you spend time with family and loved ones. The interim has gone by quickly and I have been busy preparing for the upcoming Legislative session in January.
