As many of you are aware, public education is a #1 priority for me. I have been teaching for 15 years and my experience spans many levels of education, from first grade through college. So when Governor Parnell said in his State of the State speech that this year is the year of education - I wholeheartedly agree!

This is only the first week of session and there is already so much excitement to share with you! As you may have heard, my very good friend and colleague, Representative Beth Kerttula of Juneau, is stepping down from her position as House Democratic Leader and leaving her seat in the Legislature for an amazing opportunity at Stanford University.
