Rep. Kawasaki’s Juneau Note: Meeting Fairbanks Families; HB110 Public Testimony;

I will host my second and final constituent meeting this Saturday, March 26th. This will be the final time we will be able to meet until the end of session to have a dialogue on Alaska’s future. There is a lot going on down here in Juneau and you can provide valuable input that I can take back to the Capital. The operating budget has moved to the Senate Finance Committee where they are hearing public testimony.

Berta’s Briefings from Rep. Gardner: The $2 Billion (a Year) Question

Our airwaves are filled with stark commercials threatening the end of the Trans-Alaska Pipeline (TAPS) unless we cut Alaska’s share of oil taxes. In the State Legislature, the discussion is all about Governor Parnell’s proposal (HB 110) to cut oil taxes by more than $2 billion per year in a bid to get more oil in the pipeline.

Rep. Kerttula’s Juneau Newsletter: Oil & Gas Tax Revision Moves Forward

On Monday, the House Resources Committee passed out legislation to revise Alaska’s oil & gas taxes after only a handful of hearings. As I wrote in my February 11 newsletter, I oppose these changes.
