Rep. Tuck’s Community Connection: Gas Line Update: Recent Agreements

Rep. Chris Tuck Recently, I provided information on the latest gas line proposal along with some of the basic concepts behind the plan. In this update, I have provided information on the two agreements the state has entered into so far. These are temporary, non-binding agreements that were signed in January, before the governor introduced his gasline bill. If the bill passes this session, they will be the framework for negotiating binding contracts that would govern the ownership and operation of the pipeline and LNG plant.

Rep. Tuck’s Community Connection: Gas Line Update/Constituent Meeting Invite

Rep. Chris Tuck As expected, the Governor’s new gas line proposal has dominated much of the legislature’s discussions this session. Although the deal is far from done, and may not ultimately be the right path forward, the development of our natural gas reserves is a critical goal for the future of our state. It is essential that Alaskans have access to good information so we can negotiate a good deal for the long-term.

Scott Kawasaki JUNEAU – Representative Scott Kawasaki will host a town hall meeting in Fairbanks on Sunday February 23 in the Noel Wien Library from 2:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. Kawasaki invites Fairbanksans to a discussion on a variety issues including the proposed AK LNG gas line project, education funding, and the cost of energy.
