I want to thank everyone who came to my Town Hall Meeting this past weekend. We had a great turnout and it was evident that Fairbanksans have been paying close attention to what’s going on in Juneau. It was also clear that there is frustration because of the lack of action. I share that frustration. I will continue to fight for everyday Alaskans to improve our public education system, ensure Alaskans get their fair share for our resources, and make sure that corporate money doesn’t overpower your voices.

JUNEAU – Representative Scott Kawasaki will host a town hall meeting in Fairbanks on Sunday February 23 in the Noel Wien Library from 2:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. Kawasaki invites Fairbanksans to a discussion on a variety issues including the proposed AK LNG gas line project, education funding, and the cost of energy.

Rep. Guttenberg’s Legislative Report: SOS Save Our Schools

Statewide bi-partisan education advocates organized a rally on the front steps of Juneau this week to show support for education funding. These supporters were asking for an adequate increase to the Base Student Allocation (BSA). Money that goes directly into the teaching of our students is the most important fundamental funding we can give.
