NEWS: Rep. Tarr Schedules Day of Action on National Voter Registration Day

Rep. Geran Tarr Anchorage – Representative Geran Tarr (D-Anchorage) is joining national, state, and local efforts later this month to increase the number of those registered to vote. National Voter Registration Day is September 27th and Rep. Tarr will be participating in voter registration efforts in the Mountain View and Airport Heights neighborhoods of Anchorage.

Rep. Kito’s Newsletter: School is Back in Session

Rep. Sam Kito's newsletter Fall is in the air, and school has started for students in northern Southeast Alaska. A very big welcome to the teachers, staff, students, and families that have transitioned back to school! While summer has passed, it is exciting to think about students and teachers getting to know their new classes and gearing up for the year ahead. It is time to enjoy those early morning swim practices, after school activities, and evenings of homework. With school in full swing again, please be aware of changes on the roads: watch for school buses, keep an eye out for speed limits in school zones, buckle up, and put away your cell phones.

Rep. Tarr’s Newsletter: RUSSIAN JACK COMMUNITY PICNIC, SKATE PARK RIBBON-CUTTING & CC MEETINGS

Tarr's Times This Sunday, August 28th, I hope to see you at the ribbon-cutting ceremony for the new skate park located at the Polar Bear Park! In 2012, the Anchorage Park Foundation received a $250,000 State Legislative Grant for the project and began working closely with northeast residents to identify an appropriate site for the new skate park. Construction began this June and concluded at the beginning of August. The new skate park has quickly become the popular new skateboarding hub. I am proud to say that the Russian Jack Community Council was a strong champion for the new skateboarding facility. They are excited that North Russian Jack Springs Park will continue to promote healthy lifestyles and activities, as well as serve as a venue to encourage youth to safely pursue their interests. I hope you can make it, and don’t forget your skateboards!
