JUNEAU – Today, the Alaska state House of Representatives passed legislation declaring April 2014 “Child Abuse Prevention Month” in Alaska. The resolution (HCR21), by Representative Geran Tarr (D-Anchorage), passed the House unanimously.

ADVISORY: National Leader on Sexual Abuse Prevention in Alaska to Promote “Erin’s Law”

JUNEAU - Erin Merryn, a national leader on preventing childhood sexual abuse, will be in Anchorage and Juneau this week lobbying for passage of “Erin’s Law” which would help teach children to protect themselves from sexual predators. Merryn, a survivor of childhood sexual abuse, is making her first visit to Alaska after successfully helping pass “Erin’s Law” in eleven other states.
