Throughout the recent lengthy series of special sessions, a major sticking point for the House Independent Democratic Coalition was to negotiate a compassionate deal which would cut the budget but would also prioritize children, poor seniors, and hardworking Alaskans over corporate welfare for wealthy multinational corporations.

Summer has finally arrived, but it did take a little longer than expected this year, with the second Special Session wrapping up on June 11th with passage of our state budget – more on that shortly. During the interim I will continue my Legislative work with on Legislative Council and the Legislative Budget & Audit committees. I will also be visiting communities in the district to address the local governing bodies and visit with community residents. I look forward to seeing you.
