ADVISORY: Rep. Kawasaki to Host Pizza and Politics Meeting this Weekend
Fairbanks – Representative Kawasaki will host a town hall meeting in Fairbanks on Sunday March 28. The meeting will be held in the Lathrop High School Cafeteria from 2:00pm until 4:00pm and pizza will be provided. Representative Kawasaki invites Fairbanksans to a discussion on a variety issues including the proposed AK LNG project, education funding and this year’s budget.

We are sprinting towards the end of the 28th Alaska State Legislature and multiple bills are passing the House every day. As of this writing, we have more than 25 pieces of legislation that have passed out of committee and are waiting to be voted on in the House. My office has been working diligently to ensure everything is properly vetted before we vote. It is our duty as legislators to ensure we only pass legislation that is beneficial to all Alaskans and I will continue to work hard for Fairbanks and Alaskan families.

ADVISORY: National Leader on Sexual Abuse Prevention in Alaska to Promote “Erin’s Law”
JUNEAU - Erin Merryn, a national leader on preventing childhood sexual abuse, will be in Anchorage and Juneau this week lobbying for passage of “Erin’s Law” which would help teach children to protect themselves from sexual predators. Merryn, a survivor of childhood sexual abuse, is making her first visit to Alaska after successfully helping pass “Erin’s Law” in eleven other states.

Rep. Tuck’s Community Connection: Gas Line Update/Constituent Meeting Invite
As expected, the Governor’s new gas line proposal has dominated much of the legislature’s discussions this session. Although the deal is far from done, and may not ultimately be the right path forward, the development of our natural gas reserves is a critical goal for the future of our state. It is essential that Alaskans have access to good information so we can negotiate a good deal for the long-term.
