This recognition would commemorate the state’s public gardens and the role gardens play in promoting environmental stewardship, education, plant conservation , recreation and research.
Read More →Alaska is experiencing a severe lack of affordable child care. Our parents are unable to enter the workforce and our employers are unable to recruit and retain workers. Child care providers are overworked and underpaid, unable to lower their rates and continue providing service. Organizations across the state, from social service organizations to economic development organizations, are joining together to work on this very important issue. It is time we joined that effort. We must reaffirm our commitment to children and families.

Read More →JUNEAU – Today, Representative Max Gruenberg (D-Anchorage) announced he is recovering from a successful procedure to clear two stents in his heart. Doctors in Anchorage performed the procedure yesterday, and this morning Rep. Gruenberg watched the House State Affairs Committee meeting on television and called his staff with amendments to the bills being discussed.
