Rep. Gara Exposes Oil Giveaway Shortcomings at UAA Debate
Giving oil revenue away for nothing didn’t work before and won’t work now
Today, Representative Les Gara articulated why giving away billions of dollars of Alaska’s oil revenue as the governor proposes will not increase development on the North Slope but will instead wipe out the $15 billion in savings Alaska has achieved under the current law, putting Alaska’s economy, now and into the future, at great risk. Note from Rep. Gara: Looks Like Winter’s Here To Stay E-News: Will the Guv. Do The Right Thing and Opt Out of NCLB? UAA Oil Debate Monday, and More

Tomorrow we mark the solemn national holiday of Veterans Day to honor all those men and women who have served to protect our country. Many people of my generation have parents who served in World War II but there are not many who can say “My mama was a marine.” Also, when my dad served as a navigator in the South Pacific he was one of the youngest lieutenants in the US Air Force.
