Fairbanks Area Residents Invited for Update on Work to Lower Healthcare Costs and Improve Internet Speeds

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
December 30, 2016

Fairbanks – District 4 State Representative David Guttenberg (D-Fairbanks) is continuing a long-standing practice to gather input from Fairbanks area residents before he transitions to Juneau for the legislative session. Rep. Guttenberg will host a constituent meeting on Thursday, January 5th from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. in the Murie Auditorium on the campus of the University of Alaska Fairbanks.

“As a member of the new House Majority Coalition, I am committed to helping develop a comprehensive and sustainable plan to address the ongoing fiscal crisis that has resulted in a statewide recession,” said Rep. Guttenberg. “Like nearly every Alaskan, I am anxious and concerned about the future of our state. However, I take solace in the fact that a majority of the lawmakers in the State House recognize that we face a crisis and are not afraid to put aside partisan politics and seek shared solutions.”

Rep. Guttenberg is encouraging Fairbanks area residents to bring their thoughts, concerns, and good ideas to the January 5th constituent meeting. Along with gathering input on legislative priorities, Rep. Guttenberg will provide Fairbanks area residents with an update on his work to explore ways to reduce the staggering price of healthcare in Alaska and to improve Alaska’s broadband internet infrastructure.
