A quick reminder for the Anchorage Caucus this weekend from 1:00-4:00 pm at the Assembly Chambers at Loussac Library. With massive budget cuts this year and the Republicans blocking Medicaid expansion we really need to hear from the public about priorities.
Also, please mark your calendar for our mid-session Constituent Meeting coming up Saturday, March 7th from 1:00 – 3:00 pm at the Mountain View Boys and Girls Club. We’ll have drinks and snacks! This week’s Tarr’s Times is devoted to last week’s advocacy visit by David Holthouse. I was thrilled to have David as my guest in Juneau for two jam packed days of advocacy on Erin’s Law. This low cost prevention strategy can help us address the epidemic of child sexual abuse in our state. We took advantage of every minute of David’s visit by scheduling many legislative appointments, an educational luncheon, a press availability, and he even was able to testify on the companion version of my bill.

What a week! My staff and I were really busy this week with our guest speaker, award winning writer and sexual abuse survivor Alaskan David Holthouse, who was in town to advocate for passage of Erin’s Law.
