I just wanted to let you know that, first, Thread’s summer book drive is happening this month. Thread, a non-profit, does great work for families on early childhood education. Also, Monday is the deadline to register to vote for the August 19 Primary Election. You can register 30 days before the election, and if you don’t register for the Primary, you can still register 30 days before the November General Election to vote then.

As you know, we’ve spearheaded a volunteer effort with Facing Foster Care in Alaska to get the word out that foster youth face yet another disadvantage in life. Many of them – probably most – don’t have a computer to do school work with. We want foster youth to succeed. That’s both our job as the legal guardian of Alaska’s foster youth, and the moral thing to do.
