NEWS: Anchorage Legislative Caucus Announces Public Meeting Saturday 9am-Noon

Today, Anchorage Legislative Caucus co-chair Chris Tuck (D-Anchorage) invited Anchorage residents to come share their ideas, concerns, and experiences with Anchorage-area legislators in the Alaska state House and Senate this Saturday from 9 a.m. to noon at the Loussac Library. In addition to public testimony, the meeting will include brief presentations on ongoing and proposed state projects in and around Anchorage.

ACTION ALERT: Public Testimony On Oil Tax Bill In Senate Tonight/Wednesday (and our Fishing Stream Access Bill Passed Yesterday!)

The Bi-Partisan Senate Majority has written an alternative tax bill to the Governor’s proposal, and is taking public testimony tonight and Wednesday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 pm. To testify, you have to go to your local Legislative Information Office (716 W 4th Ave in Anchorage).

My Concerns; Senate Solutions: I have written extensively about my concerns on the Governor’s bill, which allows companies to reduce the share they pay Alaskans in oil taxes by $1.8 billion/yr. Democrats: Today’s Resources Build Tomorrow’s Opportunity; Democratic Response to the State of the State shows vision for Alaska

JUNEAU – In her response to the governor’s state of the state speech tonight, House Democratic Leader Beth Kerttula (Juneau) told Alaskans that Alaska must use today’s resources to build tomorrow’s future.
