I’m Here for You I want to hear from you, |
November 23, 2016 Happy Thanksgiving to All of YouDear Neighbors, In the last year, we have had many new people participate in the public process and I want to thank you for your time and support as we work together during these tough times. This gives me hope for our future. These are challenging times and I am grateful to see new faces get involved. Thank you for your participation. New Majority to Focus on Fiscal CrisisThe size and scope of the fiscal problems facing Alaska have spurred a dedicated group of Republicans, Democrats and Independents to come together and put aside party labels in order to work toward a fair and lasting solution.
I am honored to have been elected by my colleagues to serve as House Majority Leader of this new coalition. As Minority Leader during the last session I joined in calling for a “caucus of the whole,” in which all Legislators were asked to set aside political differences and focus on working together towards fixing our fiscal problems. The subsequent lack of action showed that change was badly needed. Our new coalition has united in a historic effort to create a new majority organization which will make the hard choices needed to protect our economy, Alaskan jobs, and essential services like schools and public safety. Our goal is to work together with all legislators, the Administration of Governor Walker, and the people of Alaska to move forward and get the job done right. Here is a link to my recent new interview on the new majority vision for Alaska: Because of all of you, public service has always been enjoyable and inspiring! In this time of Thanksgiving, I want to express my appreciation for everyone. Working with you has been an amazing opportunity for me. I appreciate your high standards, persistence and ideas. As always, I’m here for you, so please keep in touch on matters important to you and your family! May you enjoy this celebration with your family full of laughter and peace. Happy Thanksgiving! Warm regards,
