I’m Here for You I want to hear from you, |
November 22, 2014 House Minority Grows in NumbersRep. Tuck Welcomes Three New Members Working for the Future of Alaska
Dear Neighbors, With the conclusion of the November elections, I can now resume legislative communications with my constituents and will be sending you regular updates on current events at a state and local level. It has been a monumental election season, with major changes in our Governor, U.S. Senator, the makeup of our State Legislature, and major decisions being made about the minimum wage, marijuana legalization, the Pebble Mine and collective bargaining. I am honored to report that I have been re-elected by my peers to continue in my role as Alaska House Minority Leader. We have added three new members to our caucus, which will greatly increase our voting membership on Legislative Committees and strengthen our ability to stand up for our unified goals:
Our increased numbers will also give us a greater ability to protect Alaska’s savings during times of declining revenues and make sure our spending priorities are prudently focused on essential needs such as education, infrastructure and public safety.
The newest members are Matt Claman of West Anchorage, Adam Wool of Fairbanks, and Dan Ortiz of Ketchikan. I look forward to the added statewide representation they bring to our organization. As always, I’m here for you, so please keep in touch on matters important to you and your family! Warm regards,
