This Monday: Hearing on Disaster Preparedness
Dear Neighbors,
I hope you are weathering the continuing intense windstorms which we have been experiencing. These storms were very unusual for this time of year, so it is important that we learn from them so we can be prepared as best as possible in the future.
This Monday, September 24, from 10:00 a.m. to Noon I will be participating in a hearing hosted by the Senate State affairs committee to discuss the topic of emergency preparedness and wind storms.
We will be hearing from the major utility companies, including electric, phone, cable and internet, followed by public testimony from Noon to 1:00 p.m.

Tuck's Tips:
A great way to make a charitable contribution to help improve educational opportunities for needy children and be sure your money is being spent the right way is through the Donors Choose website. This allows you to see specific classroom educational needs around the state and country and choose which one you would like to contribute to.
Donations may be selected to apply towards anything from dictionaries and other books to science equipment and supplies.
Even if you are unable to donate at this time I encourage you to visit the website at www.DonorsChoose.org and learn about the many creative projects being planned by our classroom teachers.
