Session Begins

My New Position as House Democratic Leader
Working for the Future of Alaska

Happy Thanksgiving!

Today, I was selected by my fellow members to the role of Alaska House Democratic Leader, replacing Representative Beth Kerttula who has stepped down to pursue a new career in academics.

I am honored to take on the responsibility of leading the caucus in our unified goals of

·  Growing Alaska’s economy,

·  Protecting and improving our children’s education, and

·  Working to create good-paying jobs for Alaskans.

I appreciate this position of trust and I take it very seriously.  The very future of Alaska depends upon thoughtful dialogue and faithfully doing the work the voters sent us here to do.

I look forward to working across the aisle with all members of the legislature to move Alaska forward and create opportunities for all Alaskans.
