Community Events from Last Weekend & AK PrideFest Dear Friends and Neighbors, It was great to be home over the weekend and see you at the Mountain View Street Fair, Airport Heights Picnic, and the unveiling of the Whale Song sculpture in Mountain View. I really enjoyed getting to hear your thoughts and ideas about our budget problem and fiscal plan. We are still here in Juneau, and I'm pushing for us to work on a fiscal plan, not just one piece, but an actual plan. I have been disappointed that during this Special Session there have been many meetings cancelled, floor sessions aren't happening, and the Senate hasn't even returned to Juneau yet to keep working. With just a few days left I don't see a plan emerging. The problem isn't going away so we must keep working towards a comprehensive solution. I'll do my best to keep you in the loop and alert you of important meetings where you can testify. Please keep in touch! Here are a few photos from last weekend's events. What fun!!
This weekend kicks off the AK PrideFest! This annual event is a great chance to get to celebrate the wonderful diversity of people in our community!! In the wake of the Orlando tragedy I hope this year's events will be filled with love and unity. Here is a calendar of events that are taking place around the city throughout the week. I’ll be staying in touch with you as often as I can, but please don’t hesitate to call or email if you have any questions or comments. Until next week,
