Budget Chart & Weekly Budget Updates! Dear Friends and Neighbors, Happy Good Friday! April is just around the corner! We’ve got almost three weeks left before the end of Session, and still so much to complete. It doesn’t seem like there’s enough time in the day to get things done, but for the most part, our office is working hard to make changes. Keeping that in mind, below is a chart of the Governor’s budget plan. The bills listed below have been referred to a committee and are scheduled for upcoming hearings. I’ve added both the Senate and House bills with their respective numbers, the short title, the original bill description, and, if the bill has been heard and passed out of the committee, the changes to the original bill. The Committee Referral column tells you where the bill was first heard or what committee the bill is sitting in. The Hearing column gives you details on the bill hearings – in what body the bill is being heard, the date and time, and the room number. It’s also important to know that most of the hearings have teleconference capabilities so that anyone across the state can participate, especially if there’s an opportunity for public testimony. I’ll be hosting weekly teleconferences through the end of session to keep you updated. Read below for the details. Click on the chart for a larger PDF view. From there you can also click on the Short Title of the bill and it’ll take you to BASIS where you can read about the bills in detail. Constituent Teleconference Meetings March 31, April 7 & 14 I am hosting three separate teleconferences leading up to the end of the Session. If you have any questions about the budget or any other legislation, I will be available for an hour every Thursday starting on March 31st until April 14th from 7:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. The call in number is 1-844-586-9085.
