UPCOMING EVENTS

Anchorage Municipal Election Voter Registration Deadline& Early Voting

The deadline to register to vote in the Anchorage Municipal Election is Sunday, March 8.  Click here to visit the State of AK Division of Election’s voter registration website to find out all the different ways you can register to vote.  Absentee Ballots can be requested here, by phone at 907-243-8683, or by email at elections@muni.org.  Voters who are unable to be physically present at the polling place on Election Day can request a special needs ballot through their representative.  If you have any questions, please contact the Division of Elections at 907-522-8683.  Early Voting begins on March 23 at City Hall and the Loussac Library and March 30th at the Chugiak Senior Center.  Only Chugiak & Eagle River ballots will be available at the Chugiak Senior center.

Youth Employment in the Parks

The Anchorage Parks Foundation and the Municipality of Anchorage run the Youth Employment in the Parks (YEP) program, which puts Alaska youth to work stewarding Anchorage’s numerous municipal parks.  This year, YEP is actively seeking to fill 26 positions for the program.  Click here to learn about the YEP program and the 2015 open positions.  The deadline for applications is Friday, March 13.

Sitka Fellowship Program

Every year, the Sitka Fellowship Program hosts a multi-disciplinary residency for creative individuals under the age of 30.  This year, six fellows from across the world and across the disciplines will be selected to spend July 15-August 30 at the Sheldon Jackson College in Sitka, Alaska.  Click here to visit the Sitka Fellowship Program website for further details.  All applications are due on March 29 by 11:59 pm.

ANSEP Middle School Academy

Applications are still being accepted for the ANSEP Middle School Academy through the University of Alaska Anchorage.  The deadline to apply is April 16th, 2015.  Click here for the camp application and here to see the answers to frequently asked questions.
