Update: First Week of Session

Dear Friends and Neighbors,

WOW!! What a week! My staff and I have been very busy this first week of session; I’ll take this opportunity to share some highlights and to show you what I have been up to. We are here and working for you.

Erin’s Law

Erin’s Law continues to be my highest priority piece of legislation. We pre-filed the bill and will continue to do everything we can to ensure that this bill becomes law because Alaska NEEDS to stop the on-going problem with child sexual abuse. In case you missed, Governor Walker called for passage of Erin’s Law in his State of the State address Tuesday night. Please get in touch to support this effort to keep our kids safe and stay tuned for regular updates on this bill!

Swearing Into Office and Signing my Oath

We definitely hit the ground running on the first day of session, January 20. Once again, I swore to serve District 19 and to uphold the Constitution of the State of Alaska and of the United States. I also need to give a HUGE shout-out to Chiquita Cothron; Chiquita came all the way down from Anchorage to take part in my first constituent meeting of the session. What an honor for us!

Escorting Lt. Governor Mallott after he swore members in. Very Exciting and Humbling

I feel so honored to sit in this seat; Can’t help but smile.

Shout out to constituent Chaquita Cothron! It was a great surprise to have a constituent in town for the first day of session. She was kind enough to share this moment with us: Signing my Oath of Office with Lt. Governor Mallott. Also pictured: Staffers Ray Friedlander and Scott Fritz
