Dear Friends and Neighbors,

Tomorrow the Legislature is supposed to reconvene in Juneau for the continuation of the first special session. Yet, we have been told that Tuesday’s floor will be a technical session- meaning only a handful of legislators will be there and no business will be conducted.

I voted to stay in Juneau and get the work done, to keep talking and negotiating until we reach an agreement. My caucus members and I continue to stand ready to talk about how we can make meaningful cuts to the state budget while still funding our education systems, building our infrastructure and keeping our promises.

Fairbanks Constituent Meeting Thursday, May 14th

Since the Legislature isn’t moving along at any great speed, I wanted to take this opportunity to hear from you. Please join me this Thursday for a District 4 constituent meeting.

Location: Fairbanks Legislative Information Office, 1292 Sadler Way, 3rd floor of the Alaska USA Federal Credit Union across from Home Depot.

House Finance Committee Meetings Medicaid Expansion

The House Finance Committee will be continuing to meet in Anchorage to take up the topic of Medicaid Expansion.

The schedule is as follows and is subject to change:

 •        Monday, May 11th 3:00pm to 5:00pm
 •        Tuesday, May 12th 1:00pm to 3:00pm
 •        Wednesday, May 13th 1:00pm to 3:00pm
 •        Thursday, May 14th 1:00pm to 3:00pm

All meetings will be taking place at the Anchorage Legislative Information Office.
