Dear Neighbors:

At the beginning of the recent 12-day Special Session I wrote to explain why the bill we were asked to decide was too simple to keep us down in Juneau too long. It took some legislators longer than I had hoped, but the gas line bill ultimately passed 55-3.

Here's a floor speech I gave summarizing how the bill saves the state money, and if a gasline is built, will earn Alaska billions more in revenue. 95% of the costs of this project will only be spent if and only if we have written contracts between gas producers and buyers to make sure the project is profitable.

I Hope this speech helps. And as always, call or write if I can help!

My Best,
