House Joint Resolution 14 "Relating to urging that the 2006 National Veterans Wheelchair Games be held in Anchorage, Alaska."

Hosting the games in Anchorage would show Alaska’s support and respect for our nation’s veterans and would also help to boost the state’s economy. The National Veterans Wheelchair Games are the largest annual wheelchair sporting event in the world and will bring an estimated 1,300 to 1,500 visitors to Alaska. With food, hotels and related tourism activities, these participants and their families and supporters will add millions of dollars to the Alaskan economy.
