YOUR OPPORTUNITY TO TESTIFY ON THE OPERATING BUDGET!

Today the House Finance Committee will be taking testimony on the state operating budget.  I serve on three Finance subcommittees which passed recommended budgets for the Department of Corrections and the departments of Revenue and Administration.  The Finance Committee has compiled the department budgets into one budget and will be taking testimony from across the state this week.  Now it is your turn to make your voice heard.

If you have today off from work, you can testify at the Anchorage LIO from
1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.

The Anchorage LIO is located in downtown Anchorage:

The House Finance Committee has also agreed to hold an evening committee session tonight, Thursday March 5, so that members of the public who work during the day can have a chance to testify without taking time off.

Tonight’s session will be from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. and testimony will be entirely by telephone.  To participate please call in to: (907) 465-4648 or (907) 465-6258.  If the line is busy, try again in a couple minutes because people will be hanging up when they are done testifying. Once you testify please hang up immediately to give someone else an opportunity.

Testimony will be limited to 2 minutes.
