Thank you for visiting my legislative homepage. I'm very honored to represent you and my other neighbors in Rogers Park, Downtown, Fairview, Eastchester, Eastridge, South Addition, West Government Hill and West Airport Heights. Since the Fall of 2002 I've spent hundreds of hours walking our neighborhoods and meeting and hearing from so many of you. If we haven't met, you should know you have an open invitation to call or e-mail me to introduce yourself. Regardless of whether we've met, you should feel free to let me know of any concerns you feel I should know about. If your concern is one that I can't help on directly, my office will work with you to try and find someone who can help.

As you probably know by now, I share a belief that government has a duty to act responsibly, to treat all Alaskans fairly, to make sure all Alaskans are given a chance to succeed and prosper in life, and to protect our unique and special Alaska lifestyle. That means that I will be a voice for:

  • strong schools and a strong university system;
  • good, affordable senior housing;
  • better access to health care and affordable prescription drugs;
  • responsible development, including the development of a natural gas pipeline;
  • a strong economy;
  • adequate funding for public safety; and,
  • the protection of our quality of life, including the protection of Alaska's great outdoors, including those places where we hunt, fish, hike, boat, camp and just enjoy.

  • Staying In Touch:

    I will try to stay in contact by sending out 2 session newsletters. I only have a limited office budget for newletters, so if enough of you send me your e-mail addresses, I'll start an e-newsletter, which I can send at no cost.

    You can always call or e-mail me or my staff, Cindy Smith 465-4068 and Ryan Peterson 465-2647.
    And, please make sure you visit if you're in Juneau during session. During the off session I will hold office hours in my Anchorage office, and will do everything I can to make myself available.
